Sainik Mining And Allied Services Limited (SMASL) was incorporated in1989 and has since been engaged in contract mining mainly for various CIL Subsidiaries involving operations like removal of overburden, mining of coal/lignite, logistics etc. SMASL is one of India’s largest coal mining company in private sector with annual turnover of apprx. INR 11302 million in the year ended 2017. The promoters of SMASL are engaged in mining opportunities in other parts of the world viz- mining / trading of coal in Indonesia, exploration for gold in Peru and rock processing in Fujairah (UAE) through its group companies.

is a graduate from The Indian School Of Mines and served in CIL for nearly four decades in various capacities, the last as C.M.D. of the MCL and is providing consultancy on all matters related to development of Coal Blocks in Orissa.

is a Mining Engineer and is associated with the mining activities being carried out in the state of Chhattisgarh and has served in CIL in various positions before retiring as CGM, CCL.

Mr. Rajkumar Agarwal
General Manager
Mr Agarwal joined Sainik Mining in April 2009 with a vast experience in road projects and logistics operations. Based at Ranchi site, he is executing coal logistics operations. Primarily managing and operating joint venture coal projects, his performance and revenue generation has been excellent throughout. Commendable dedication and devotion towards his work and company along with knowledge and experience, which have been his instruments in managing various contractors of the region. His crisis management ability has enabled company in handling various critical situations.
Major Narayan Singh Rathore (Retd.)
An alumnus of Mayo College, Ajmer, Major Rathore holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from VTU, Belgaum and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from NMIMS, Mumbai. Prior to joining Sainik Mining in 2011, he served in the Indian Army for six years as a short service commissioned officer. He led counter terrorism operations in North Kashmir and was later posted in West Rajasthan where he independently commanded a sub unit. Major Rathore has since played a vital role for Sainik Mining in developing various projects at Talcher (Odisha), Dhanbad (Jharkhand) and for the past four years at Ranchi, Jharkhand. As an ex-military commander, he carries with him the discipline, dedication and decisiveness that has helped him build and develop projects for the company in the region, while enhancing the productivity. He is known for the rapid formulation and completion of projects with a focus on yield, throughput and cost effectiveness. His exemplary progress in execution and accomplishment of projects have earned accolades for company from all quarters.
Mr. Mangal Singh Rathore
One of the most experienced members of the company, Mr. Rathore has been associated with Sainik group since 1998 and has rendered his services in various locations such as Ib Valley, Talcher, Dhanbad and Ranchi. He heads the Central Inventory Management Cell (CIMC), which deals with the management, planning and purchase of equipments & spares for the Odisha and Jharkhand regions. He has been associated with Surface Mining since its inception and pioneered the introduction of this environment friendly technology in coal industry. He holds a unique expertise in hands-on experience in the maintenance of HEMM along with surface miners. An excellent communicator, a resourceful executive and an intelligent negotiator, Mr. Rathore has earned the respect and camaraderie of many OEM’s & vendors alike. His constant monitoring and supply chain skills have been phenomenal in maintaining smooth operations and he continues to be one of the greatest assets.
